Two men arrested after more than £30k in cars stolen
Staffordshire Police have arrested two men after more than £30,000-worth of cars were stolen from a business in Newcastle-under-Lyme.
Between 11.15am and 11.20am on Monday 30th January 2023, a group of men forced their way into a car garage in Ashley.
They rammed the front gates to get inside and then drove away in a number of stolen cars, including:
• A grey Fiat 500
• A white Fiat Tipo
• A white BMW 1 series
• A grey Toyota Rav4
• A grey Fiat 500X
Police sent nearby officers and police dogs to look for them and quickly found the stolen BMW which had been ditched in a car park on Weston Road.
Police dogs were then brought in to track any leftover scents which could help find the suspects.
Two men were then found in the Weston Coyney area and searched at the scene.
A 34-year-old man, from Stoke-on-Trent, was arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft.
Another man, aged 29, of no fixed address, was arrested on suspicion of the same offence.
Both remain in custody while inquiries continue.
