Appeal after cyclist injured in non-stop collision in Meir
Staffordshire Police are appealing for information after a cyclist was knocked to the ground during a non-stop collision in Stoke-on-Trent.
Between 6.20am and 6.50am on Saturday (28th January 2023), the cyclist was riding in the cycle lane of the A50 westbound, next to the Meir and Longton Royal British Legion, when a car drove into the bus stop and collided with a large metal frame.
As a result, the frame was knocked over and hit the cyclist, causing him to fall off the bike.
The car didn’t stop at the scene and continued to drive away – leaving the man injured on the ground.
The cyclist, a man in his 20s, went to hospital as a precaution but is thankfully not seriously injured.
At this stage, there isn’t much information available in relation to the suspect car, although police believe it may have been a Skoda with tinted windows.
