Blue scooter linked to ASB and criminality located
Police from Shift 1 Response were out on patrol at 11pm on Saturday (27 March) on Newcastle Street in Burslem when the scooter was spotted, with rider and pillion passenger not wearing helmets.
The rider tried to evade officers by attempting to U-turn and mount the pavement but lost control and dropped the vehicle.
He and his passenger, two 16 year-old boys from the local area, were detained following a short foot chase.
Checks showed the scooter was being rode without tax or insurance and was subsequently seized.
The driver was arrested on suspicion of operating a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence, without tax or insurance, failing to display L plates and carrying a pillion passenger.
He was later returned to his home address by officers.
