Man charged following fire in Burton-on-Trent
A man has been charged in connection with a fire in a flat in Burton-on-Trent in the early hours of 13th April 2020.
Colleagues from Staffordshire Fire & Rescue Service were called to a report of a fire on Blackpool Street at around 4.28am on 13th April 2020.
The blaze, believed to have been started deliberately, was put out by firefighters.
All those inside escaped and colleagues from West Midlands Ambulance Service attended and treated three people for smoke inhalation.
Samuel Rowarth-Powell, 30, of Blackpool Street, has been charged with arson with recklessness as to whether life was endangered.
He appeared at North Staffordshire Magistrates’ Court on the 14th April 2020 and has been remanded to appear at Crown Court on 15 May 2020.
