Park Hall visitor centre set to reopen

Stoke-on-Trent City Council have announced the Park Hall visitor centre will be reopening soon, with Staffordshire Wildlife Trust taking on the much-loved beauty spot.

Since the visitor centre was destroyed in an arson attack, the City Council have funded and rebuilt the area. Which comes complete with toilets, CCTV, power supply and community rooms.

With the Covid-19 pandemic, work has been set back and we are pleased an opening date is in sight.

Councillor Dan Jellyman, cabinet member for infrastructure, regeneration and heritage, said: “The previous visitor centre was a popular and well-used building and we know it has been sorely missed after that mindless act of vandalism. It was really important to us that we replaced the building so that visitors to this wonderful place continue to have a great experience.

“It might not seem like a big project on the face of it, but it has been challenging, particularly with the stop-start nature of the pandemic. It is great to announced that Staffordshire Wildlife Trust have finally taken occupation of the building, we are thrilled to have them on board and looking forward to seeing the new environmental education hub take pride of place in the heart of the city”

Opening dates for the visitor centre will be announced in the coming weeks.
