Police Officer to appear in court charged with common assault
A serving Staffordshire Police officer is due to appear in court charged with common assault.
It follows an incident on Cheadle Road, Blythe Bridge, on 5th October 2021.
PC Colin James Gay, aged 49, who is based in the Force Operations Department, appeared at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 3rd March.
He has been given unconditional bail after his appearance at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court and he was told he should next attend the court and appear before magistrates on April 1st 2022. He has not yet entered a plea to the charge.
