Large fire in Longton area sends smoke across Stoke-on-Trent

A large fire is believed to have occurred in the rear area of Motor Clinic on Trentham road in Longton. People from across the Stoke-on-Trent area have reported thick black smoke coming from the Longton area.

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue service also confirmed the fire via Twitter, asking local residents to keep doors and windows closed.

Motor Clinic have confirmed the fire was at their site and issued the following message on Facebook :-

We would like to confirm that this afternoon there was a fire at Motor Clinic.

Despite the massive volume of smoke projected into the air the fire was in a small section of the outside storage yard.

We are pleased to report that no injuries were sustained and there was no damage to any of our buildings, customers vehicles or property.

We would like to thank all well wishers, customers and supporting businesses who have messaged us and also a huge thank you to Staffordshire Fire & Rescue Service.

Rest assured our business remains unaffected by this incident and business will be open at 8:30am as normal tomorrow.

Crews are currently dealing with a large incident in the Longton area of Stoke, we are advising all local residents to keep doors and windows closed.
