FlixBus is launching first connections from Stoke-on-Trent

The world’s largest intercity coach travel provider continues to expand in the UK. From May 20, FlixBus will double the number of routes, connecting 20 cities in England and Wales, and for the first time offer connections to and from Stoke-on-Trent.

On April 15, FlixBus returned to the UK roads with a domestic coach service connecting cities in the East Midlands, West Midlands, Yorkshire, North West, South West, South Wales and London. Initially, the network consisted of 18 routes between 12 destinations, including Birmingham, Manchester, Bristol, Sheffield, Leicester and Cardiff.

Following just a few weeks of successful operations, FlixBus will increase the number of direct routes to almost 40, twice the offer compared to the launch in April. From the second half of May, the West Midlands is also benefiting from the development; new journeys will be available to and from Stoke-on-Trent as well. Initially, it will be directly connected to London and Manchester; the green coaches will run between the cities every day. Tickets can be booked from 99p. Even more destinations will be available with interconnections, FlixBus is also planning to further increase its offer during the year. Within the scope of the current expansion, Liverpool, York, Warrington, Chester, Northampton, Nottingham and Bridgend are also becoming part of the green network.

“Since we have restarted our network, we have seen a strong growth every week in the number of passengers travelling with us. People are seizing the opportunity to move around the country again and there is a great demand for a new, value for money travel alternative in the UK. Passengers from Stoke-on-Trent will now have access to FlixBus’s coach services too. We believe this will allow even more people to enjoy the freshly regained freedom of mobility. The upcoming spring bank holiday is a great opportunity for local passengers to try our service,” said Andreas Schörling, Managing Director FlixBus UK.

In line with the easing of restrictions, more journeys will be available

When the easing of restrictions continues, capacities are expected to increase and new journeys will be added to the offer. FlixBus strictly follows local regulations. Currently, the company fills only half of the seats and keeps the row immediately behind the drivers clear. Preventive measures stay in force on all vehicles. Passengers have to wear masks, as do drivers when away from their seat. Every coach undergoes a thorough cleaning process which includes the use of disinfectant.
