51 year old patient with COVID-19 dies at UHNM

John Oxtoby, Medical Director at University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust, said:

“Sadly, we can confirm that a patient who was being cared for at Royal Stoke University Hospital, and had tested positive for COVID-19, has died.

“The patient, 51, had underlying health conditions and died on Friday 20th March.

“His family has been informed and our thoughts and condolences are with them at this difficult and distressing time.”

This is the second patient to die of the virus at th ehospital. A 73 year old who was also tested positive for Covid-19 and had underlying health conditions died at the University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust on March 19th 2020.
